Lauren Spector Morrissey is an attorney who has maintained her own family law practice for fifteen years. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law in 1986. Ms. Morrissey began her legal career as an Assistant County Attorney in the Family Court Bureau of the Westchester County Attorney’s Office where she spent ten years representing the Department of Social Services in prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases and in handling custody, visitation, paternity, and child support matters. In addition, during the last four years in that office she helped train new attorneys and manage the Family Court Bureau as a Senior Assistant County Attorney.

Since starting her own practice in 2000, Ms. Morrissey has been representing children in Supreme Court and Family Court for matrimonial, custody, visitation and neglect matters as a Law Guardian. Her experience as a Law Guardian for children and in representing adult clients in court, led her to explore other means of conflict resolution as a better alternative to litigation.
